Let’s take care of ourselves, and each other. Let’s not go to the lowest emotions of fear, paranoia or panic. Let’s do our due diligence to take the precautions we need to do to take care of ourselves and those of us around us.
This is Sherri Echols with RE/MAX Bryan – College Station. Right now, we are more dependent upon each other than we ever have been. Right now, we have an enemy, the coronavirus… that is faceless, that is sexless, non-denominational, and bipartisan. It’s an enemy that we ALL agree we wanna beat! We wanna beat and we’re GONNA beat!
The economy is going to be a bit of a mess for who knows how long? There’s a green light on the other side of this red right we are sitting behind right now. I believe that the green light is going to be built upon the values we can enact right now. Fairness, kindness, accountability, resilience, respect, courage…. If we practice those things right now… when we get out of this, this virus, this time might be the one time that brings us all together and unifies us… like we have not been for a LONG time!
We are blessed to live in an age with numerous communication technologies. Pick up the phone and call a loved one or friend, offer to help others who are in need, spend some time on Skype, Zoom, Messenger or Facetime with loved ones. We need to be leaders of hope and inspiration to others. We cannot allow social distancing to become emotional isolation. We must practice patience, trust, and care for one another.
More importantly, our community needs to set the standard for how we approach the months ahead. We can each play a role and do our part by supporting each other with patience, compassion, and generosity. Just keep living and loving!
