Howdy y’all! I’m here today with a friendly reminder that may save you some money. This is Sherri Echols, Broker Associate with RE/MAX Bryan – College Station.
If you bought a house last year, or turned 65, or have disabled veteran’s or survivor’s exemptions now is the time to submit the application for Homestead Exemption.
To do this go to Brazoscad.org. Under the Forms tab click State Forms. Scroll down a little until you see Homestead Exemptions in the center of your screen. Download and print the appropriate form for you, complete it, get it notarized if necessary. I am a notary and am happy to help you with this for free. Then drop it at the office, mail, fax, or email the form into the appraisal district. All of the contact information on how to send it is right there on the website. Super easy, no-cost, saves you money.
Even if you bought your house before last year and have never claimed the exemption do it now! It’s not too late.
I hope this has been helpful! If you have questions or need help shoot me a message! This is Sherri Echols, a helping hand for a happy home.
